Charming Ripples Quilt Pattern - American Dream

When I say the Charming Ripples  quilt pattern is a quick finish, I mean it is a really quick finish. I wanted to gift a quilted table runner before the 4th, and it happened!

Cut on Monday evening (two from one charm pack - and the white bits were cut from scraps)
Pieced and quilted on Tuesday
Bound and shipped on Wednesday.
Received on Saturday. Yeah! Just in time for July 4th.

The first version of this quilted tablerunner is quilted with all straight-line quilting.

The second quilt runner I made from the same charm pack/5" squares stack of American Dream from Riley Blake Designs I changed the straight line quilting up a bit and added in some decorative stitch quilting.

Love it! Simple, unique deco quilting touch that also keeps the seams down nice and flat.

Nearly identical yet unique these quilted table runners were a fun summer sew and add richness and warmth to the table.

American Dream has a great mix of prints - plaids, florals, and geometrics. Combined with the awesome patriotic colors, these prints make for an awesome scrappy patchwork quilt.

Isn't the little floral print darling? I definitely had to add some of the white print to my stash of little prints on white. Not sure what I'm going to do with this little collection, but someday I'll know.

Cute little quilt roll.

Happy quilting, everyone : )

Charming Ripples quilt pattern - Strawberries & Rhubarb

This year it felt right to sew up my charm pack of Strawberries & Rhubarb by Fig Tree Quilts & Co for Moda Fabrics. It's a perfect match for strawberry season - the reds and corals and greens and earthy browns. So yummy!

With just a charm pack, a bit of background fabric, and an accent fabric of choice, you can make a super long runner or two shorter quilt table runners using the Charming Ripples quilt pattern

When making up the Charming Ripples quilt pattern, I like to do all the cutting then lay out each section. Once I like the flow of prints and colors, I piece each section then piece section to section. It goes very quickly, even the long 81" runner.

Wasn't sure how decorative stitching was going to look but I really wanted to try so I went for it.

First I did straight-line quilting with a walking foot in place then I did the green deco stitching. It took about half an hour to stitch each line of decorative stitching. I didn't rush it, just nice and steady stitching with the sewing machine.

This Fig Tree Strawberries & Rhubarb version of the Charming Ripples quilt pattern turned out so nice!

House & Home Blog Tour with Poppie Cotton

When the creative team behind Poppie Cotton invited me to participate in a blog tour sharing one of their newest fabric lines, House and Home, I jumped at the opportunity to share another creation using this truly lovely fabric line.

The colors and prints of House & Home evoke thoughts and feelings of warmths, comfort, and home, perfect for quilt making.

At first I was going to make a baby quilt to have on hand to gift, but the first family quilt I made using House & Home has been such a hit with the family (always in use) that I decided to make another full-size throw quilt, one for upstairs and one for downstairs.

The pattern featured here, Charmingly Done, is a pattern I'm current working on. The block needs some tweaking but overall the first sample is quite pleasing.

Charmingly Done is being written to be precut friendly using 5" squares and 2.5" strips.

The question is - cornerstones in the sashing or not?????
