NEW QUILT PATTERN: Log Cottage

One jelly roll (or a partial jelly roll) + accent fabric (or charm squares) + background = one large throw quilt OR a runner and a throw OR a runner and topper and baby quilt.  When writing this quilt my goal was to utilize as much of a jelly roll (2 1/2" strips) as possible.  I believe that goal was met in my newest pattern, Log Cottage.

Log Cottage Quilt Pattern offers five sizes -
Quilt Runner - 12" x 72"
Quilt Topper - 36" x 36"
Baby Quilt - 48" x 48"
Throw Quilt - 60" x 72"
Long Throw Quilt - 60" x 84"

A few of my favorite blocks. Love the green! Usually I'm not a poinsettia fan, but these certainly are pretty and whimsical.  Little Tree by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics is such a pretty and fun fabric line. A pleasure to make with.

Log Cottage Quilt Pattern is definitely a quick, simple finish in any size. Toss in straight line quilting and you can finish up a runner in a few hours or one of the larger sizes in a weekend or a few afternoons.

Once strip sets are pieced and sliced, Log Cottage blocks piece like a traditional log cabin block. So much fun to build.

You can find Log Cottage Quilt Pattern in my etsy shop here.

Obligatory quilt runner roll : ) Don't you just love the binding?! Almost didn't use it but am so happy I did. It makes a fun little finish to this quilted table runner.

Happy quilting!!!

Log Cottage: A Jelly Roll Table Runner

Just in time to grace the Thanksgiving Day table, my latest finish is a table runner made of All Hallow's Eve by Fig Tree Quilts. It turned out so pretty and elegant.

This table runner is made with a block from a pattern I'm developing, Log Cottage.  Look for this full pattern sometime after the new year in 2020. Using jelly roll strips or cut strips from yardage and simple strip piecing, this pattern is going to be a fun, quick make. My favorite kind of quilt pattern : )

The small gray print with dot of black is my favorite print of the All Hallow's Eve fabric line. I'm a bit of a sucker for small prints : )

Usually table runners are a much quicker finish for me. This little quilt was started in September on Sew With a Jelly Roll Day while we were in temporary quarters waiting to close on a new house in a new state. With so much new and uncertain, it was nice to just sit and work on this project when I was able. Although it didn't get finished until a week or so ago, it is finished now and makes me smile to have it done for T-day. It reminds me to be grateful for little blessings.

Here are a couple of my favorite blocks.

Straight line quilting with the walking foot because I still love it.  I really like how the quilting kept with the simple, elegant feel of this quilted table runner.

Black binding makes such a pretty table runner roll :)

New Quilt Pattern: A Charming Barn Star 3

A Charming Barn Star Quilt 3 has been gracing our wall for a couple weeks. It's dear husband's favorite to date, which thrills my heart, and our kids love the 3D effect.

Patriotic coordinating quilted wallhanging and table runner - goal accomplished!

My goal with this pattern design was to create a quilt using a charm pack/mini charm pack utilizing squares as much as possible and very few half square triangles/HST. For the border I wanted a bold frame yet not just strips of fabric. Trying to use as much of the charm pack as possible, I was inspired to use four patches in the corners. Voila! a striking yet simple quilt. My kind of quilt pattern : )

Straight line quilting with hashtag quilting in the center and corners to keep it simple but a bit different to change the quilting up a bit. (Don't you just love that striped binding?! Sweet Tea fabric has some of the best stripes for binding.)

A Charming Barn Star 3 quilt pattern makes two sizes using either a charm pack (5" squares) or a mini charm pack (2.5" squares). Throw in a little background and border fabric and you have a quick finish.
