When I think of fall, I inevitably think of our annual apple orchard trip. For several years I've wanted to commemorate our 20+ years of family apple orchard trips with an apple quilt. It's finally finished and published and can be purchased in my shop here.
So thrilled to be able to give you all Orchard Time - an apple quilt. All you need to make your own Orchard Time quilt is traditional piecing skills and some scraps or charm squares or layer cake squares or fat quarters. Throw in some sashing, background and border and you are all set to make up a cute quilt top.
Instructions include two sizes - 40" x 40" table topper/wall hanging and 15" x 49" table runner.
The patchwork setting gives space for showing off favorite prints and colors.
My Orchard Time quilted table wall hanging is made with Scarlet & Sage by Fig Tree & Co for Moda Fabrics. It's such a perfect early fall fabric line - touch of warmth with the brightness of early fall.
Quilting was done on my APQS Millie longarm using a pantograph called Triplet from Ma Tante Quilting. I love the light breezy airiness that it lends to the quilt top. It quilted out like a dream, quickly and smoothly, even though I shrunk it down a bit to make the quilting a bit denser for a wallhanging.
Even though it took longer than I would have liked, I'm thrilled with how my vision for an apple quilt has come to life.
If you would like to share your version of an Orchard Time quilt, I'd love to see. Please use #orchardtimequilt
Happy quilting, everyone : )
Anna
