Farmhouse Summer Wallhanging

While I do find working with fabric panels challenging, I couldn't pass on making up the Farmhouse Summer (an Echo Park Paper Co fabric line for Riley Blake Designs)  panel into a wallhanging as there are too many elements to love - the colors, the barn, the farmhouse, the florals, the welcoming bench, the phrases. Ah! I love it all!

Inspired by the free design for this fabric panel on RileyBlakeDesigns.com, I simplified the border design a bit with a simple four patch vs a star. I couldn't decide between the red print and the yellow print; the four-patch allowed for both.  The large blue floral coordinates so well with the four-patches.

I spent a lot of time trimming the panel to get it as square as I could. So glad I put in the extra effort. It looks and hangs so well; couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Here are a few shots focusing on the different segments of the panel.
"Together is our favorite place to be"

"Welcome"
"Live Simply"
"The best days are happening right now."

Seriously, could it get any better?

"Love makes a house a home."
Home can be anywhere in anything : )

The quilting was done on my APQS Millennium using the Baptist Fan Simple pantograph by My Creative Stitches. The quilting turned out so well and stitched so smoothly.

Have you ever made a quilted wall hanging only to discover when it was finished that you don't have a place to hang it? Yeah. That's me : ) We're working on rectifying that, but, in the meantime, I had to get creative with finding a place to take pics. While the quilt has been finished for a couple months, just a few days ago it finally dawned on me to string a rope on the deck rails. Voila! I believe I'll be taking more pics here in the future.

Happy quilting, everyone : )
Anna
