A Fast Finish: Mini Charm Fun Runner (Winterberry)

After making a new winter wallhanging with Return to Winter's Lane, a coordinating table runner was in order.  As luck would have it my stash of mini charms contained a pack of Winterberry also by Kate & Birdie for Moda Fabrics. I think they look really good together, don't you?

This was a very quick project to finish and took very little yardage in addition to the mini charm pack to finish. So grateful to have been gifted the border and binding fabric. Isn't it a fun little print? Something about this dot-not-dot fabric is just so cute!

I designed this quick little runner to fit on width of fabric. Who wants to mess with piecing a backing when "quick finish" is the name of the game? Not me!

Simple straight-line quilting continued the quick finish. I really do like simple quilting : )

Wasn't sure how I was going to like the blank space in the center, but it's perfect for whatever we are setting on the table.

It's been a few months since I made a runner so a rolled picture is a MUST!

That border printer is just perfect!

This was such a fun, quick finish.

Happy quilting!

  1. I love how simple this tablerunner is. I often rack my brains trying to think up an interesting pattern and here you have made something so beautiful that is the height of simplicity. Genius! Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Thank you, Nina! and you are so very welcome. It is a small joy to share inspiration when I have received so much from the generosity of others. I do know what you mean. Sometimes I feel if it isn't interesting, and complicated looking then I'm not really doing "quilting", but then I listen to the little voice that reminds me that I'm not out to impress anybody. I have very little spare time and I need to make the most of it - enter simple projects. I'd rather have it finished and in use : )

  3. I also want to say I love the simplicity of this. I have a few of the mini charm packs that really didn't know what I was going to do with them, this is the answer. Thank you for the pattern.

    1. Thank you! So often simple is best. This runner is a fun one to make and doesn't take much yardage so overall an inexpensive little quilt to make.
