Windermere Irish Change

Recently finished up dear daughter #3's  quilt. She wanted something with an Irish chain quilt feel and this layer cake of Windermere from Moda Fabrics.

I followed the Irish Change tutorial by Missouri Star Quilt Co. Once I had all the chain blocks made it pieced together very quickly as there is minimally seams to match. The fewer seams to match, the better, I always say : )

This picture represents the colors best. Found the perfect blue for the chain blocks - Quilter's Linen in Paris Blue. Have I ever shared my love for Quilter's Linen by Robert Kaufman? Well, I love them! They are the perfect linen weave look in a regular quilter's cotton fabric. They read like a solid but with a lot of texture.

Quilt stats:
Finished size - 66" x 85".
Fabric - Windermere from Moda Fabrics
Accent fabric - Quilter's Linen Paris Blue
Batting - Heirloom wool
Backing - flannel sheet from Target

Garden Path - shorter version

Enjoying this shorter size of the #gardenpathquiltpattern. As the Coney Island by Fig Tree & Co for Moda  charms were leftover from the longer runner (see previous post) and already cut in half, it was a very quick finish.

I used a print from Summer Sweet by Sherry & Chelsi for Moda for the binding. It is such a pretty, summery orange, and I really like how it adds a slightly brighter touch than on the longer Garden Path Quilt Pattern that I did first.

The basketweave binding is darling!

Not sure where I got this gray dot but I think it is neutral enough to work as backing, and I'm thinking if I need to I can switch the runner over quick for a different look.

For a bit of fun I did wavy quilting  using my walking foot. I love doing wavy quilting! So fun and doesn't take as much focus as straight line quilting. Usually I do random wavy lines, but this time I followed the same pattern across, roughly : )

And, yes, you have read correctly - you can get both sizes of quilted table runners from one charm pack of 5" squares, or you can get one runner and one square quilted table topper. All three options are included in the pattern.

Happy quilting, everyone! : )

NEW QUILT PATTERN: Garden Path Quilt Pattern

Garden Path Quilt Pattern
GARDEN PATH QUILT PATTERN

This sweet, simple quilted table runner has been in the works for a long time and I'm so thrilled that it is finished and able to be enjoyed this summer.

With just a charm pack or scraps you can make up one or two of the three Garden Path Quilt Pattern sizes.

Why does it take so long sometimes to make with your absolutely favorite fabric?
Coney Island by Fig Tree & Co. for Moda Fabrics is one of my all-time favorites, circa 2017. The orange and yellow are the perfect summertime hues!

Simple, classic-to-me straight line quilting keeping the pattern simple to let the fabric shine.

I made the Runner and the XL table runner sizes from Garden Path Quilt Pattern and will probably be keeping both. (Yes, I like the pattern and fabric that much : )

Sweet orange quilt roll - love it! The binding and background are Moda Bella Solids.

Happy quilting, everyone! : )
