NEW QUILT PATTERN: Garden Path Quilt Pattern

Garden Path Quilt Pattern
GARDEN PATH QUILT PATTERN

This sweet, simple quilted table runner has been in the works for a long time and I'm so thrilled that it is finished and able to be enjoyed this summer.

With just a charm pack or scraps you can make up one or two of the three Garden Path Quilt Pattern sizes.

Why does it take so long sometimes to make with your absolutely favorite fabric?
Coney Island by Fig Tree & Co. for Moda Fabrics is one of my all-time favorites, circa 2017. The orange and yellow are the perfect summertime hues!

Simple, classic-to-me straight line quilting keeping the pattern simple to let the fabric shine.

I made the Runner and the XL table runner sizes from Garden Path Quilt Pattern and will probably be keeping both. (Yes, I like the pattern and fabric that much : )

Sweet orange quilt roll - love it! The binding and background are Moda Bella Solids.

Happy quilting, everyone! : )

NEW QUILT PATTERN: Positive Charm - uses charm pack, layer cake, fat quarters/eighths, or cut yardage

Thrilled to introduce Positive Charm Quilt Pattern. This pattern finally worked it's way up the list to completion. Yay! One of the reasons I love this pattern is it combines my love of charm packs and a plus sign/cross quilt. Quilty perfection, in my humble opinion : )

With a couple of my favorite charm packs (Ella & Ollie by Fig Tree & Co. for Moda Fabrics) and some Riley Blake Designs Chocolate Basic Shades I made up the throw size, four other sizes to choose.

To be honest, I was a bit nervous making a quilt with such a dark background but I love it! It adds warmth and coziness to the quilt yet it remains cheerful and bright. And isn't the little check binding just darling?! It is a print from Catalina by Fig Tree & Co.

Positive Charm quilt pattern offers five sizes to choose from (lap to king) and five fabric options  (charm squares (5"), layer cake (10"), fat quarters, fat eights, and cut yardage). So many options!

One of my sons suggested a green print for the backing so I went with a favorite Ella & Ollie floral. I usually like small prints best, but there is something about these large Fig Tree florals that pulls me.

On Positive Charm I tried vertical straight-line quilting. Not sure if I prefer horizontal over vertical quilting. Verdict is still out on that one. Vertical means less quilt rolled up under the machine throat but it also means longer lines to quilt. Pros and cons either way.

If you are looking for a quick, fun quilt finish, look no further. This pattern has very little matching and nesting seams.

Happy quilting!

NEW QUILT PATTERN: Prairie Barn Quilt

Introducing Prairie Barn Quilt: This pattern has been on my mind for years (ever since seeing it made of wood hanging on a real barn : )  I just knew I had to design and make it with fabric.

I'm thrilled with how this pattern turned out. The colors of my sample inspired the name Prairie Barn Quilt. They recall to my mind the colors of late summer grasses and blue, blue wide open skies.

Prairie Barn Quilt is another versatile quilt pattern featuring two sizes and four different color options to choose from. You can make this quilt pattern with yardage, a charm pack, a layer cake, fat quarters, or even go all scrappy.

I just might have two or three or five different versions of this quilt I'd like to make : ) I think it would look so neat in the one-color option reversed, think navy and white or red and white or any favorite color.

Happy quilting!
