Background - 1/3 yard
Border - 1/4 yard
Batting - 17" x 45" piece minimum
Backing - 17" x WOF (width of fabric = 42.5") - minimum. For more quilting comfort, get 1 yard of backing.
Binding - 1/4 yd
CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Background:
Cut (2) strips 2.5" x WOF.
Subcut strips into (30) 2.5" x 2.5" squares
Cut (1) strip 6.5" x WOF
Subcut strip into (1) 6.5" x 22.5" piece (C unit piece)
Border:
Cut (3) strips 2.5" x WOF
Subcut (2) strips each into (1) 2.5" x 38.5" piece.**
Subcut (1) strip into (2) 2.5" x 14.5" pieces.**
Binding - Cut (3) strips 2.25" x WOF
**TIP: For accuracy's sake, wait and measure pieced body of quilt top before subcutting the pieces for borders. Everyone's seam allowance varies a tad and this can affect exact border lengths required.
PIECING INSTRUCTIONS:
Mini Charm Fun Runner is composed of (2) A units, (2) B units, and (1) C unit. Press seams according to directional arrows.
Step 1: Piece (2) A units. Press initial seams toward print. Press secondary seams open.
Step 3: Piece a B unit to either long sides of C unit (Background 6.5" x 22.5" piece). Press seams toward C unit piece.
Step 4: Piece an A unit to either end of B unit/C unit piece. Press seams open.
Step 5: Attach first border to either long sides of pieced quilt body. Press seams toward border.
Step 6: Attach second border to both short ends of pieced quilt body. Press seams toward border.
Step 1: Layer quilt sandwich and baste quilt using preferred method.
Step 2: Quilt.
Step 3: Square up quilt.
Step 4: Bind.
